ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Finance Minister Geoffrey Wever, together with Minister of Public Health, Social Affairs, Elderly Care, and Addiction Management Mervin Wyatt-Ras, officially announced the second edition of the Fiesta di Cunucu 2026, set to take place on Sunday, June 28, in Santa Rosa.
This celebration is a collaborative effort between two ministries, the Elderly Care Directorate and the Santa Rosa Department, aimed at honoring Aruba’s senior citizens and highlighting the richness of the island’s primary sector.
The Fiesta di Cunucu offers a full day of traditional cuisine, fresh local produce, an authentic farm atmosphere, and activities that encourage joy, movement, and intergenerational interaction. The event blends the primary sector’s mission of strengthening local production with Elderly Care’s focus on promoting well-being, social engagement, and a sense of community among seniors.
Minister Wever emphasized: “Fiesta di Cunucu shows what’s possible when ministries work together with a shared vision. We celebrate our elders, our food, and our traditions in the perfect setting — our very own cunucu.”
All families in Aruba are invited to visit Santa Rosa on Sunday, June 28. The Fiesta di Cunucu is more than an event; it is a display of gratitude, respect, and Aruban pride.
