SAN NICOLAS – Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever has announced that the San Nicolas Pop-Up Market, located at Plaza Lolita, has officially become the largest market in Aruba. Following its launch in September 2025, the monthly market has expanded rapidly, growing from 13 initial vendors to nearly 70 active participants in just six months.
According to Minister Wever, more than 30 additional vendors are currently on the waiting list to join the market. He emphasized that this growth is a direct result of a clear vision and hard work, signaling that the local economy in San Nicolas is awakening. “When we launched the Pop-Up Market, we believed in the potential of San Nicolas and in the potential of our local producers and entrepreneurs,” Wever said. “The numbers of today confirm that our people were ready for this opportunity.”
Wever acknowledged the significant contribution of District Advisor of San Nicolas, Rondel Heyliger, whose daily presence and operational efforts were vital to the market’s success. He described Heyliger as an example of the public service the community deserves. The market serves as an economic engine for local families and artisans, aligning with the AVP-FUTURO 2025-2028 Government Program’s goals for economic growth and urban revitalization.
