ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Fundacion FEPA, in collaboration with Universidad di Pueblo Aruba George van Putten, has launched the first first Family School in Aruba, titled ‘Parents Behind the Desk’.
The initiative, which began on Monday, April 20, at Cacique Macuarima, aims to provide parents and neighborhood residents with free courses to enhance their skills and improve their employability. Additionally, the program seeks to equip parents with better tools to guide their children’s education at home.
A total of 155 participants have enrolled in this initial pilot. The curriculum includes Basic English, Basic Dutch, Sales and Marketing, starting a home-based business, and bookkeeping for small businesses.
Upon completion, participants will receive a recognized certificate under the supervision of Examenkamer Nederland. Plans are in place to expand the project to all districts in August, offering a wider range of courses to the community.
