Parliamentarian Hendrik Tevreden has raised serious questions regarding the AWSS Wastewater Management Speaking in Parliament, Tevreden described the situation as “appalling,” citing both environmental issues and the alleged mismanagement of capital.
Tevreden highlighted that machinery worth 10 million Euros, purchased from the company Oblyses, has been taken out of service without a clear explanation. He expressed concern that Parliament has not received a report justifying this decision or clarifying the future of the equipment.
The parliamentarian linked the unused machinery to the persistent foul smell affecting the hotel zone and the Parkietenbos area. He holds Minister of Energy Arthur Dowers responsible, arguing that decisions involving such significant investments require transparency and substantiation.
