ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Department of Human Resources (DRH) has introduced a new code of conduct aimed at strengthening integrity within Aruba’s public sector.

The Aruba Public Sector Integrity Code was developed over two years in collaboration with relevant authorities and focuses on guiding government employees in ethical behavior and decision-making.

According to DRH Director Omaira Lares, training sessions have already begun for staff and department heads to ensure proper understanding and implementation of the guidelines.

The Aruba Public Sector Integrity Code addresses multiple areas, including workplace behavior, professional relationships, financial responsibility, and overall conduct within the public service.

Lares explained that the initiative, titled “Sa bo caminda,” is designed to create awareness about what is acceptable and unacceptable within the government system.

The program includes workshops covering six key themes, providing practical guidance for employees across different departments.

The Aruba Public Sector Integrity Code aims to establish clear standards, improve accountability, and promote a culture of transparency within the public sector.
