ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard intercepted a suspicious vessel carrying six individuals early Sunday morning in Aruban waters. The Maritime Operations Center first detected the boat during routine surveillance operations.
Upon interception, authorities boarded the vessel and took all six occupants into custody for further investigation. The Coast Guard has not yet released details regarding the nationality of those apprehended or the specific circumstances surrounding the interception.
Maritime interceptions remain a key focus for the Coast Guard in the Caribbean region, as authorities continue to monitor waters between Aruba, Curaçao, and Venezuela for illegal trafficking and unauthorized maritime activity.
The individuals are currently being processed, and additional information is expected to be released following the completion of the initial investigation.
