ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Bureau Sostenemi, Aruba’s central advisory and reporting center on child abuse, is celebrating 20 years of service dedicated to protecting children and supporting families in the community.
As part of the anniversary, the organization inaugurated a new office in a more central location to make access easier for those seeking help and guidance. The move aligns with its mission to provide assistance, advice, awareness, and prevention related to child welfare and abuse.
Minister Mervin Wyatt‑Ras joined Bureau Sostenemi Director Mrs. Magaly Maduro at the ribbon‑cutting ceremony. The event included a symbolic moment with children and local singer Freddy Rasta, highlighting the bureau’s mission to protect, guide, and sustain children and families.
Bureau Sostenemi serves as a central point for advice, reporting, and coordination on issues of child abuse and neglect in Aruba. It works closely with professionals, families, and community partners to ensure effective support when concerns arise.
Minister Wyatt‑Ras emphasized the importance of the organization’s work and its role in the broader child protection network, noting that the government remains committed to strengthening community support and preventive efforts.
The new office is intended to be a vital resource for families and professionals, reinforcing that child safety and well‑being remain a shared responsibility for the entire community.
