According to the minister, the program was originally launched in 2013 during the government of Mike Eman, with the goal of providing young people with structured guidance and a second chance to develop social and life skills.

Minister Wyatt-Ras emphasized that initiatives like the SVT program help young individuals become active members of the community.

“I believe these young people are receiving a second opportunity to build themselves and become productive members of society,” the minister stated.

The SVT-19 Youth Program Graduation Congratulated by Minister Wyatt-Ras also underlined the social importance of ensuring that young people feel heard and supported.

The minister explained that when young individuals face difficulties, programs like SVT offer them a structured path to develop skills, confidence, and direction in life.

According to Wyatt-Ras, Aruba aims to remain an inclusive society that offers opportunities to all individuals, including youth who may need additional support.

“Our community must ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate and contribute, including our young people,” the minister said.

During the ceremony, the minister also expressed appreciation to the project team and instructors who worked closely with the participants throughout the training process.

Special recognition was given to project coordinator Jessy Ras and the staff of the Mariniers Kazerne, who provided the location and support for the training program.

The SVT-19 Youth Program Graduation Congratulated by Minister Wyatt-Ras also highlighted the important role of the Department of Social Affairs (DAS), which supports families experiencing social or economic challenges.

Officials explained that the program focuses on helping youth develop social abilities and life skills that allow them to better manage daily responsibilities within their families and communities.

By supporting young individuals through structured training and guidance, the program aims to strengthen not only the youth themselves but also their families and neighborhoods.

“If you help a young person like this, you are not only helping the individual—you are helping their family, their neighborhood, and the entire community,” Minister Wyatt-Ras emphasized.

Authorities noted that programs like SVT remain an important investment in the future of Aruba’s youth and in the long-term well-being of society.
