ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Mabon Renovation Project Brings Pride and Hope to Residents as the large-scale neighborhood revitalization initiative approaches its final phase.

Originally announced before the end of last year, the renovation of the apartment flats in Mabon forms part of a broader plan to restore, modernize, and beautify several neighborhoods across Aruba. The objective is to create a safer, more dignified, and pleasant living environment for residents.

The Mabon Renovation Project Brings Pride and Hope to Residents by transforming aging infrastructure into refreshed, secure housing that promotes comfort and community pride. Over the past months, visible improvements have significantly changed the appearance and atmosphere of the complex.

Julitza Croes, a longtime resident and homemaker who has lived in the flats for many years, expressed her excitement about the transformation.

“Our flats were once colorful in the past, but now we are seeing a real change. The renovation was done well and with quality. Now we can say we have a more beautiful place to live,” Croes shared.

Another resident, Jadrick Lampe, who has lived in the complex for seven years, also expressed gratitude for the improvements. He highlighted the installation of new doors and windows, structural repairs, updated facades, and fresh paint that together create a renewed and modern atmosphere.

“When you see everything that has changed, it feels like a new home. It motivates you and makes you proud of where you live. I thank everyone who made this possible,” Lampe stated.

According to information from the contractor, the renovation works included replacing windows and doors, improving walls and stairway safety, upgrading entrance and exit points, reorganizing parking spaces, and applying a new exterior color scheme. The project was completed within a relatively short timeframe while maintaining close coordination with residents.

The Mabon Renovation Project Brings Pride and Hope to Residents not only through structural improvements but also through the emotional impact on the community. Residents say the renewed environment has strengthened their sense of belonging and pride.

What once showed signs of wear and aging now stands as a symbol of progress and attention to community well-being. The revitalized flats represent more than upgraded infrastructure — they reflect investment in people and quality of life.

The Mabon initiative serves as a clear example of how neighborhood renewal can positively impact both physical surroundings and community morale, reinforcing the importance of continued development across Aruba.
