“As a leader, my priority will always be the safety and tranquility of our families. Human life is sacred, and we cannot allow more pain caused by irresponsible individuals on the road,” stated MEP leader Evelyn Wever-Croes in Parliament, during the approval of the new traffic law.

Your protection is our priority: “We have all seen the pain of watching families destroyed by hit-and-run accidents or reckless driving without regard for others,” Wever-Croes explained. She emphasized that MEP has listened to the people’s outcry and acted firmly.

This new initiative, driven by Edgard Vrolijk and Rocco Tjon, introduces much harsher penalties for those who drive dangerously. “We are sending a clear message: here in Aruba, we take care of each other. Anyone who chooses to drive irresponsibly and puts the life of a mother, father, or child in danger will face serious consequences,” emphasized Wever-Croes.

Serious work yielding results: Evelyn highlighted that true leadership is shown through action, not empty words. She thanked her colleagues for their vision:

Edgard Vrolijk mentioned that this is his 9th legislative initiative. Vrolijk has already achieved important laws, such as the Integrity Minister and the Ombudsman laws. He is a leader who works diligently with discipline, always thinking about how to make our country stronger and more just for all.

Rocco Tjon explained that his 5th legislative initiative continues to strengthen safety, with a particular focus on preventive health, especially mental health.

Union for a safer future: Evelyn concluded by reminding the public that MEP is the party that brings peace and order. “I am proud to lead a faction that works with heart and responsibility. Whether in Parliament or Government, our commitment is for Aruba to always remain a safe country for all. This is the union and seriousness our country deserves.”
