ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AAN) — The Aruba family living minimum December 2025 increased by 26 Florin, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS Aruba).

CBS explained that the living minimum represents the minimum income required to maintain an adequate standard of living in Aruba. It is calculated based on the cost of essential goods and services such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, and other basic needs included in the CPI consumption basket.

To adjust for household size and composition, CBS applies equivalence scales, assigning a weight of 1.0 to the first adult, 0.5 to each additional adult, and 0.3 to each child aged 0–14. The living minimum figures are based on the Living Minimum 2010 report and are updated monthly using CPI inflation data.

For December 2025, the Aruba family living minimum December 2025 for a household consisting of two adults and two children stood at Afl. 5,537, compared to Afl. 5,511 in December 2024. The increase was mainly driven by higher costs in Housing (Afl. +27) and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (Afl. +17). The largest decline during the month was recorded in Clothing and Footwear, which fell by Afl. 16.

CBS also reported that the monthly living minimum for a single-adult household in December 2025 was Afl. 2,636. This resulted in an income deficit of Afl. 650, an increase of 12 Florin compared to the deficit recorded in December 2024. This deficit is the third-highest recorded over the past six years for the month of December.
