The Aruba BAR campaign 2026 has gained additional momentum as Piso 3 officially joined the Fundacion Anti-Droga Aruba (FADA) in promoting responsible behavior during the Carnival season. According to Rubiella Toppenberg, Preventive Officer at FADA, the BAR campaign is more than an awareness drive—it is a movement aimed at saving lives.

Speaking to Matutino DIARIO, Toppenberg explained that the Aruba BAR campaign 2026 was intentionally launched during Carnival, a period marked by celebration, joy, and large gatherings, but also increased risks related to alcohol use and traffic accidents. She emphasized that impaired driving remains a serious concern, making continued awareness efforts essential.

Toppenberg noted that choosing to drive after consuming alcohol is a personal decision, but one that can have life-altering consequences. FADA believes such incidents are preventable, and that prevention is the core objective of the BAR campaign, which stands for “Bo Amigo Responsabel” (Your Responsible Friend).

She referred to recent traffic incidents that have deeply affected the community, stressing that despite ongoing awareness efforts, accidents continue to occur. “At the end of the day, one decision can change everything,” she said, reinforcing the urgency of the Aruba BAR campaign 2026.

The BAR initiative was first introduced last year during Carnival, and FADA is pleased to once again bring the message forward this season. For 2026, FADA partnered with Piso 3, citing strong confidence in Piso 3’s strategy and approach. Toppenberg highlighted that previous collaborations between FADA and Piso 3 have been successful, making this partnership a natural step forward.

For the first time in its history, FADA is also uniting three major insurance companies under a single national cause. These companies, long-time supporters of Aruba’s Carnival, have joined forces to strengthen awareness efforts against driving under the influence as part of the Aruba BAR campaign 2026.

The initiative aims to encourage responsible choices, reduce alcohol-related accidents, and protect lives during Carnival and beyond.
