ORANJESTAD (AAN):
Renowned Swedish psychologist, cognitive psychotherapist, and author Eva Rusz launched her new book, “Dare to Change Your Life,” last week Thursday at the National Library of Aruba.
The captivating story is inspired by Rusz’s personal and professional experiences in Aruba. The event celebrated the book’s message of transformation and reflected on her personal journey of embracing change while building a life in a multicultural environment.
Eva Rusz fell in love with Aruba’s natural beauty, its people, and its culture, returning year after year to write and reconnect with the island. Over time, she built a home, opened her own practice, and became a trusted psychologist within the local community.
However, as Rusz discovered, visiting an island and building a life on it are two very different experiences. Beneath the surface of the “One Happy Island,” she encountered unexpected challenges, including immigration difficulties that left her in undocumented status on two occasions, as well as experiences involving corruption, betrayal, and even personal danger.
Despite these hardships, Rusz found purpose and compassion. She began rescuing stray dogs, discovered Aruba’s unique wildlife, and embraced the island’s warm multicultural spirit.
While the book is based on real-life experiences, it is intended to entertain and inspire, rather than serve as a factual documentary. Dare to Change Your Life offers readers an engaging exploration of self-discovery, courage, and transformation, encouraging them to embrace change and view life from new perspectives.
The book launch event included an introduction by the author and a book signing, during which Rusz also presented a copy of the book to Astrid Britten, Director of the National Library of Aruba.
