ORANJESTAD, Aruba – During the early hours of Thursday morning, police from the Oranjestad District conducted a large-scale overnight traffic control operation. The checks were carried out at several strategic locations across the city, where officers identified multiple traffic violations.
In total, 152 motor vehicles were stopped, and 68 traffic fines were issued during the operation.
The violations included issues related to vehicle registration numbers, expired inspections, lack of insurance, speeding, failure to wear seat belts, missing or invalid driver’s licenses, and defective vehicle lighting.
The Police Department is reminding all drivers to ensure that their vehicle documents are complete, valid, and up to date. The reminder also extends to pedestrians and non-motorized road users, who are equally required to follow traffic regulations.
Police emphasized that traffic controls will continue, without a fixed schedule, as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety across Aruba.
