Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire Impacted

AMSTERDAM:
For the fifth consecutive day, passengers traveling from Amsterdam to Caribbean islands, including Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire, have been experiencing significant flight disruptions.

The situation began on January 3, following problems in international airspace, and has continued to affect air traffic ever since. Adverse weather conditions and snowfall in the Netherlands have further slowed down flight operations, causing widespread delays.

Airspace and Weather Complications

The initial disruptions occurred when airspace between the United States and Venezuela could not be used under normal conditions, forcing airlines to reroute or delay flights. Shortly afterward, the situation worsened due to snow and winter conditions at and around Schiphol Airport, making aircraft handling, takeoffs, landings, and crew scheduling more difficult.

As a result, flights to the Caribbean — including Aruba — have been delayed or rescheduled, leaving many passengers stranded or facing extended travel times.

Airlines continue to work on restoring normal operations, but travelers are advised to monitor flight updates closely and remain in contact with their airlines for the latest information.
