ORANJESTAD (AAN):
The cruise ship Valiant Lady, operated by Virgin Voyages, was scheduled to visit Aruba on Monday. However, due to the ongoing situation in Venezuela, the cruise line decided to cancel its planned call to Aruba on Monday, January 5, 2026, as well as its visit to Curaçao on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
In an official statement, Virgin Voyages said, “Due to the evolving situation in Venezuela, we have made careful itinerary adjustments in the best interest of our passengers and crew.” The Valiant Lady has a passenger capacity of 2,770 guests.
Instead of docking in Aruba, the ship will call at Bridgetown, Barbados. On the following day, instead of Curaçao, the vessel will sail to Castries, St. Lucia.
Scheduled visits to St. John’s (Antigua) and Philipsburg (St. Maarten) will remain unchanged. All shore excursions that had been pre-booked for Aruba or Curaçao were automatically canceled, and passengers were issued full refunds.
Despite the cancellation, another cruise ship, Europa 2, with a capacity of 516 passengers, is still scheduled to dock in Aruba today.
