A serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m. on Tamarijn Road, near Sero Pita, involving a sedan and an SUV. This was the first of two accidents reported on the same road that evening.
Police patrol units from Santa Cruz were urgently dispatched to the scene after reports came in indicating that someone had been injured. Emergency services were immediately notified, and two ambulances were sent to assist.
Upon arrival near Tamarijn 54, officers found a white Chevrolet Equinox SUV and a white Hyundai Accent sedan that had collided. Investigators observed long skid marks on the road, believed to have been left by the Hyundai Accent.
According to witnesses, the Chevrolet Equinox entered the roadway from the southern side just as the Hyundai Accent was approaching at a relatively high speed, leading to the collision.
One person sustained injuries in the accident and was transported by ambulance to the hospital’s emergency department for further medical treatment.
Police reported that approximately one kilometer further down the road, a second serious accident occurred later that night. Details of that incident will be addressed separately.
