During the 2024–2025 school year, the Stichting Sociaal Fonds Colegio Arubano (Colegio Arubano Social Foundation) provided approximately 50,000 Aruban florins in financial assistance to students and parents of Colegio Arubano. This was confirmed in a report received by Matutino DIARIO from Mr. Eric Illes.

A significant portion of the expenses consisted of monthly student contributions in the form of food packages, totaling 25,850 florins. Due to the ongoing needs of parents, the foundation maintained the value of the food packages and extended this support to include the month of July, despite it being part of the school vacation period.

Additional expenses covered by the foundation included school books and examination fees, amounting to 14,348 florins. Furthermore, the foundation allocated 5,832 florins toward workshops and training sessions aimed at supporting students in exam preparation.

In terms of income, the foundation received 15,290 florins in donations from teachers and staff of Colegio Arubano. Every month, teaching and administrative staff voluntarily contribute to help cover expenses for students from less privileged backgrounds, a gesture that is greatly appreciated. Donations from private individuals and service clubs amounted to an additional 32,367 florins, for which the foundation expressed its gratitude.

Students and parents can apply for assistance through the school’s social workers. Based on submitted reports and recommendations, the type of support provided to each student is reviewed and approved accordingly. The Stichting Sociaal Fonds Colegio Arubano has been officially established as a foundation since 2007 and is registered with the Chamber of Commerce. However, as an internal support structure within Colegio Arubano, this form of assistance has existed since the 1980s.

Organizations or individuals who wish to support this cause are invited to make a donation to RBC account number 7700000013852249, under the name Stichting Sociaal Fonds Colegio Arubano. For more information, inquiries can be sent to stichtingsociaalfondsca@gmail.com.

The board of the Stichting Sociaal Fonds Colegio Arubano extends its sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed in any way to support this important initiative.
