Tayo Riba Mesa” is a well-loved and meaningful project organized by the One Happy Island Lions Club. As part of Lions Clubs International’s global Hunger Relief initiative, the program aims to support families in need by ensuring they have food on the table.
In an interview with DIARIO, Junior Arends shared that the club is currently preparing for the second edition of Tayo Riba Mesa – Christmas Edition, which collects non-perishable food items, gifts for children, and personal and hygiene products for families who need support during the holiday season.
This Saturday, December 13, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the One Happy Island Lions Club will be at Centro Kibrahacha in Piedra Plata, where the Aruba community is invited to drop off donations.
For those unable to visit the location but still wishing to contribute, donations can be arranged by contacting the Lions Club at 568-0829. A member will coordinate to pick up the items.
Arends encourages individuals and companies alike to participate. Businesses may collect items from their employees and deliver them to Centro Kibrahacha on Saturday.
The One Happy Island Lions Club aims to assist at least 100 families in Aruba and, together with other organizations, hopes to help even more households during this festive period.
“We rely on the support of our community. Together, we can help families enjoy the holiday season in a better and more meaningful way,” Arends said.
