On Tuesday, November 26, Fundacion Lanta Papiamento (FLP) will host an evening lecture presented by Mr. Ramon Todd Dandaré, Mag. Ling.

The lecture, titled “In the Break of Dawn: The Emergence of a Creole Language – Papiamento,” will focus on the oldest existing Papiamento texts known to date and their cultural and historical value.

Mr. Todd Dandaré will discuss texts from the years 1775, 1776, 1783, and 1803. These early documents provide an important window into the history and development of Papiamento. They also reveal much about the lives, context, and circumstances of the time in which they were written.
