The entire Aruban delegation was filled with joy and excitement as they rushed onto the field to celebrate with the Aruba U6 baseball team, who emerged victorious at the Big Boys Tournament held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The thrilling final match ended in a 15–15 tie before young star K’drian Dijkhoff delivered what was described as the “Golden Hit”, securing Aruba’s championship win over Mexico with a final score of 16–15. Notably, K’drian is the grandson of renowned Aruban baseball player Chiki Dijkhoff.
Coach Shaun Toppenberg expressed immense pride and happiness following the victory, stating that he was “overjoyed and proud” of his team’s hard work and success in claiming the top title at the tournament.

Additionally, Aruba’s U8 team also performed impressively, earning second place in their category.
