SVb Confirms No Plans to Privatize AO Notification Controls

Edwin Jacobs, Director of the Social Insurance Bank Aruba (SVb), recently told DIARIO that the SVb has no plans to stop managing AO (sick leave) notifications or to transfer this responsibility to a private company. He confirmed that the current notification system will remain fully under SVb’s management.

As part of its ongoing digitalization efforts, SVb is encouraging more employees to submit AO notifications through the MiSVb Trahado App. Currently, more than 80% of daily AO notifications are handled through the app — a development Jacobs described as highly positive. The aim is to reduce phone calls for AO reporting and promote greater app usage among workers.

Employers can access the MiSVb portal or receive an email notification when an employee reports an AO. Soon, employers will also be able to log into the MiSVb Trahado App to check which employees have submitted notifications and on what dates. Even for workers who don’t use the app, their information will be available in the system for employers to review.
