On October 24, 2025, the Taxiway Golf at Queen Beatrix International Airport officially reopened after undergoing a complete renovation. The Aruban Civil Aviation Department granted final approval on October 23, following multiple inspections that confirmed the taxiway was ready for operational use.

The reopening ceremony was attended by Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, Wendrick Cicilia, along with Interim CEO James Fazio, who participated in the ribbon-cutting event.

The rehabilitation work on Taxiway Golf began in August 2025. Originally built in 1997, the taxiway has now been upgraded to meet modern aviation standards.

“The reopening of Taxiway Golf is part of our ongoing efforts to prepare for the upcoming winter season, as we anticipate increased demand and heavier use of our airport facilities,” said Minister Cicilia.

The Minister highlighted that with more flights expected during the high season, the new Taxiway Golf will improve operational efficiency and reduce air traffic congestion, ensuring smoother coordination for airlines. This initiative is a key part of Aruba’s broader strategy to prepare for a successful and busy travel season.

Minister Cicilia also announced that an additional security lane will be added in November to further enhance passenger flow and comfort at the airport.

In conclusion, Minister Cicilia expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in completing the Taxiway Golf rehabilitation project, emphasizing its importance in strengthening Aruba’s aviation infrastructure and readiness for future growth.
