Wilhelminastraat to Undergo Revitalization Soon, Announces Prime Minister Mike Eman

On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Mike Eman, together with Minister Wever and Minister Herdé, held a press conference to announce the upcoming revitalization works for Wilhelminastraat and its surrounding neighborhood.

During the conference, Prime Minister Eman emphasized the importance of continuity in governance to ensure that major projects and long-term visions are not abandoned, preventing setbacks in national development.

He recalled that during his previous administrations, several renowned institutions such as TNO, Rotterdamse Scheepvaartschool, Rietveld Academie, and Philips were established in Aruba with the goal of positioning the island as a hub between the Netherlands, South America, and the wider region.

Prime Minister Eman praised Minister Wever for her perseverance in continuing investment efforts in urban revitalization projects like Caya Grandi, despite challenges and earlier government decisions that had halted such works.

“Political maturity is essential for achieving real progress in Aruba,” Eman stated, adding that the AVP-Futuro government program is built on that foundation. The main goal of the current administration is to improve the purchasing power of Arubans and, in collaboration with the private sector, to stimulate sustainable economic and community growth.

He further noted that the government recently announced the renovation of neighborhoods such as Bushiri, Mabon, and De Vuyst, creating complete communities where every resident can live with dignity and contribute to building a stronger society.

Additionally, 60 million Florins have already been allocated for 2026 to support initiatives that strengthen the purchasing power of vulnerable citizens.

“Big developments are on the way,” Eman concluded, “and the government will provide the necessary support to ensure these projects are completed efficiently.
