Prime Minister Mike Eman offered his heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the family of Oscar Wyatt, Jr. following his passing. “We remember with gratitude and admiration the moment Aruba showed its appreciation for Mr. Wyatt’s courage when, through Coastal, he undertook the major challenge of reopening the refinery. Our decision to honor him with Caya Oscar Wyatt Jr. in San Nicolas reflected that respect. We stood together in recognition then, and today, in this time of grief and farewell, we stand with the Wyatt family,” Eman said. He extended thoughts to Lynn Wyatt, Trey Wyatt, Steve Wyatt, and Minister Mervin Wyatt-Ras, as well as the entire Wyatt family. Prime Minister Eman recalled that Mr. Wyatt first came to Aruba in 1989 and led intensive talks that culminated in the refinery’s 1991 restart—an achievement that extended the facility’s life and gave a crucial boost to Aruba’s economy. He praised Wyatt not only as a bold entrepreneur who invested during difficult times, but also as a devoted family man and generous human being with many charitable initiatives. “Our words of comfort and solidarity are with the entire Wyatt family,” Eman concluded.
