Prosecutor Seeks 10-Year Prison Sentence for Man Involved in Cocaine Smuggling That Led to Death

The prosecutor has pressed charges against 40-year-old G.E.T. in the Diabierna court, seeking a 10-year prison sentence. This follows a case where cocaine pellets led to the death of Timothy D’Aguiar. The prosecutor found that G.E.T. was involved in two similar cases, one in 2021 and the other in December 2024. In both cases, the smuggling of cocaine pellets resulted in the deaths of individuals.

In the December 2024 case, Timothy D’Aguiar, who had traveled from Medellín, Colombia, to Aruba to smuggle cocaine pellets, died after two pellets ruptured in his stomach. The prosecutor seeks a 10-year sentence for G.E.T. for his role in this tragic event.

Although G.E.T. initially denied involvement in drug trafficking, he admitted to knowing Timothy and claimed he only helped him by allowing him to use his vehicle to search for drugs in Colombia. G.E.T. further explained that Timothy had no job and that the deal was for Timothy to keep 40% of the drugs while the owner kept 60%. G.E.T. also claimed that he gave Timothy $400 to purchase syringes for drug smuggling purposes.

However, G.E.T.’s defense argued that he had no direct involvement in the drug trafficking. His lawyer, Mr. D. Croes, contended that there was no clear proof linking G.E.T. to the drug smuggling operation and claimed that Timothy was desperate due to his financial situation.

The prosecutor, however, presented evidence from chat messages between G.E.T. and Timothy that suggested G.E.T. had facilitated Timothy’s drug search. The investigation also revealed that Timothy had traveled to Colombia several times in 2024, which supported the claim that G.E.T. had been involved in smuggling.

The prosecutor concluded that G.E.T. was responsible for the death of Timothy D’Aguiar, who died after ingesting the cocaine pellets. The case is still ongoing, and a final verdict is expected by October 24, 2025.
