The Government of Aruba, together with the Stichting Musica Aruba Carnival (SMAC), has announced the program for the posthumous farewell of Robert Jeand’or, one of the island’s most celebrated musicians and cultural icons. The tribute, titled “Sinfonia di una Leyenda,” will take place on Friday, September 26, and Saturday, September 27, 2025.

On Friday, September 26, the farewell begins with a musical parade departing at 5:00 PM from the Aruba Entertainment Center. The procession will move along Avenida Milo Croes and Vondellaan, ending at Cas di Cultura around 6:00 PM. Throughout the route, as well as outside Cas di Cultura, the public will enjoy musical tributes from various Aruban artists and the renowned Solo Banda Show, which has performed alongside Robert for more than three decades.

The evening program at Cas di Cultura will include speeches from government officials, family, friends, and invited organizations. The celebration will conclude around 9:00 PM with one of Robert Jeand’or’s most iconic songs, performed by Solo Banda Show, as a final tribute.

The public is warmly invited to participate by dressing in colorful attire, with carnival-inspired clothing especially encouraged to reflect Robert’s vibrant spirit. Parade participants will walk alongside floats and musical groups, with family, friends, and special guests joining the procession.

On Saturday, September 27, Robert will be honored in a farewell service at Misa di Santa Cruz from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by the Holy Mass at 4:00 PM. Afterward, the procession will visit several meaningful locations, including Robert’s home and Alto Vista, before concluding with his cremation at Aurora Funeral Home, in the presence of family and close friends.

Traffic along parts of Avenida Milo Croes and Vondellaan will be partially closed during Friday’s parade to accommodate the celebration.

The Government of Aruba and SMAC emphasize that the farewell is not just a moment of mourning, but a celebration of Robert Jeand’or’s extraordinary contribution to music and culture in Aruba.
