Police spokesperson Liliana Rasmijn confirmed that 44 drivers were fined for exceeding the legal speed limit. The most serious case involved a 146 km/h driver, who was clocked traveling at an extremely high speed. In past cases, drivers caught at such dangerous speeds have been required to appear before a judge.
Police issued a clear warning that speed controls will continue during this period. According to Rasmijn, the goal of these operations is not simply to issue fines but to prevent tragedies that could cost lives.
