Women’s Club of Aruba Remembers Life Member Celsa Wever as a Dedicated Volunteer

The Women’s Club of Aruba (WCA) is mourning the passing of Mrs. Celsa Wever, who dedicated more than 40 years of her life to volunteer service in the community. Celsa joined WCA in 1973 and, in recognition of her unwavering commitment, was honored with the title of Life Member in 2013 at the age of 80.

Although she never served on the board, Celsa devoted herself to countless volunteer activities through the club’s various committees. She was actively involved in visiting children in the hospital to read and tell stories, organizing celebrations for youth at Imelda Hof and Casa Cuna, and supporting events for students of Bibito Pin. She also played a role in the Keep Aruba Clean initiative and the senior citizens’ committee.

Her greatest contributions came through her handmade crafts for the annual Christmas Bazaar, which raised vital funds for WCA. Alongside her friends from “Rusti Needles,” she produced beautiful handcrafted items. She also volunteered at food markets, always ready to help with delicious dishes and snacks.

Celsa was known for her kind and humble character, a gentle spirit filled with love for her community. She never refused to help, whether it was selling raffle tickets or lending a hand in fundraising, always saying: “I will do my best.”

With heavy hearts, the Women’s Club of Aruba bids farewell to a remarkable woman who left an enduring legacy of service. Sincere condolences are extended to her children, family, and friends. May the beautiful memories of Celsa bring comfort during this time of loss.
