Tips for Smooth and Safe Vacationing in Aruba

Aruba is excited to welcome you for your dream vacation! However, like many destinations, the “new normal” requires a few additional steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all visitors and locals. Whether you’re planning a relaxing beach getaway or an adventurous exploration of the island, here are some important tips to help you navigate your Aruba vacation smoothly and safely during these unprecedented times.

1. 🌐 Stay Updated on Travel and Entry Requirements

Aruba’s local government has taken effective measures to ensure your safety. While entry requirements, such as COVID-19 testing, may seem challenging, they are in place to make sure everyone can enjoy a safe experience. You have two options for testing:

  • Pre-arrival testing: Take the test in your home country and upload results as part of the ED Card process.

  • Testing upon arrival: Prepay for your test at the airport, head directly to your accommodation, and wait for results (up to 6-8 hours).

Also, Aruba requires a one-time flat fee for Visitor’s Insurance for all tourists.

2. 😷 Masking and Social Distancing

Masks are required:

  • During your flight to Aruba, at the Aruba airport, and until you reach your accommodation.

  • On public transportation (taxis, buses) and when visiting indoor spaces (grocery stores, shops, etc.).

When social distancing isn’t possible, wearing a mask is highly recommended. Many resorts have policies requiring masks in common areas.

3. 🧼 Keep Your Hands Clean

Remember to wash your hands frequently and carry hand sanitizer with you. Hand sanitizers are available throughout Aruba, including at restaurants, resorts, and stores.

4. 🍴 Choose Outdoor Dining for a Safer Experience

Dining at open-air restaurants is a great way to ensure a healthy and enjoyable meal. If you prefer indoor dining, look for establishments displaying the Health & Happiness Certification Seal, ensuring proper hygiene measures are in place.

5. 🚶‍♂️ Avoid Crowded Venues

While Aruba is doing its best to manage crowd sizes, it’s important to remain cautious. Be mindful of local curfews and crowd control regulations, which may vary by time and place.

6. 🌅 Book Outdoor Tours and Explore Safely

Join outdoor tours with limited group sizes or rent a jeep or car to explore the island on your own. Make sure to visit hidden gems such as Mangel Halto or Natural Pool! These tours are great ways to stay safe while discovering Aruba’s natural beauty.

7. 🏖️ Social Distancing While Having Fun

While on vacation, remember to maintain social distancing, especially when enjoying outdoor activities or sipping on a piña colada! Aruba’s year-round perfect weather ensures plenty of outdoor fun, making it easier to stay apart while soaking up the sunshine.

8. 🇺🇸 U.S. Travelers: COVID-19 Testing Requirement for Re-entry

As of January 26, 2021, U.S. travelers must present a negative COVID-19 test result before returning to the U.S. Aruba offers various testing locations, and many resorts provide on-site testing for guests. Make sure to check with your resort for details and plan ahead!

🌟 Conclusion

Aruba is ready to welcome you, and with a few simple steps, you can ensure a safe and smooth vacation. By following local protocols, enjoying outdoor activities, and respecting the island’s health measures, you’ll have a fantastic time on this sunny, paradise island. 🌞

Let’s make Aruba a safe and unforgettable destination for everyone!
