Police spokespersons confirmed that authorities in Aruba have arrested a man suspected of involvement in a violent road rage incident that drew widespread public outrage after a video of the confrontation circulated online.
The incident occurred on Friday, August 15, 2025, along the road from Kibaima to Cunucu Abao, near a T-intersection in Pos Abao. The victim, a 74-year-old female driver, was physically assaulted after the suspect, driving a pickup truck, blocked her vehicle in heavy traffic, exited his truck, and struck her multiple times.
Several bystanders witnessed the assault, and one passerby even attempted to intervene to protect the elderly woman. Police immediately opened an investigation and treated the case with seriousness.
The suspect was arrested last Thursday and appeared before the examining magistrate on Monday, September 8.
Authorities stressed that traffic violence is unacceptable and poses a serious threat to public safety. Incidents of this nature will continue to be investigated and prosecuted with firmness.
