ORANJESTAD (AAN): The recent Soroptimist Aruba Professional and Organization Meeting hosted by the Soroptimist International Club of Aruba (SICA) brought together professionals, representatives of various organizations, and even parliamentarians to share insights about the upcoming symposium on March 7, 2026, in connection with International Women’s Day.
Magaly Maduro of SICA explained that the Soroptimist Aruba Professional and Organization Meeting centered on the symposium’s core theme: trauma, a reality that affects many people, especially women, as well as a range of social issues impacting Aruba’s community. The exchange of ideas and experience focused on the need for increased awareness, education, and structural collaboration to tackle current challenges with determination and vision.
According to Señora Maduro, the goal of the meeting was to motivate the participating organizations to encourage their members and networks to actively take part in the symposium. SICA believes that awareness and events like this play an essential role in breaking the silence around critical issues and building a resilient, stronger community.
Soroptimist International is a global organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through education, leadership, and empowerment, and the Aruba club is part of this worldwide movement. Locally, SICA remains active throughout the year with different projects, campaigns, and events aimed at creating opportunities, providing support, and driving long‑lasting positive change.
The Soroptimist Aruba Professional and Organization Meeting also reaffirmed SICA’s commitment to working strategically and consistently for the well‑being of women in Aruba and to creating a space where relevant and urgent topics can be treated with seriousness and professionalism. The club invited the entire community, including both men and women, to participate in the March 7 symposium.
SICA also encourages the people of Aruba to consider becoming members and joining the movement that places dignity, resilience, and progress at the center of the social agenda. Events like these demonstrate how professional collaboration and organizational support contribute to empowerment and community engagement.
