The Social Training graduation celebrates youth discipline and opportunity as a group of young participants marked an important milestone in their lives during the Formacion Social (SVT) #19 graduation ceremony.

The participants received their certificates after successfully completing the second phase of the program. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mike Eman, Minister Mervin Wyatt-Ras, representatives of the Royal Navy, instructors, and proud family members.

Program Focused on Youth Development

During his speech, Prime Minister Mike Eman emphasized the importance of the Social Training graduation celebrates youth discipline and opportunity program, explaining that it provides guidance for young people during critical moments in their lives.

According to Eman, many participants reach a point where they must reflect on their future—whether to continue studying, start working, or pursue a meaningful path in life.

“The program gives young people the opportunity to work on their personality, discipline, and their vision for the future,” Eman said.

He noted that the SVT initiative was created to help young people develop their potential and receive the guidance needed to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Recognizing Key Contributors

Prime Minister Eman also acknowledged the contributions of Jessica Ras and Nicole Whitfield-Godett, who played an important role in developing the program from its early stages.

He further recognized the ongoing support from the Royal Navy and ARUMIL, organizations that have helped sustain the training initiative.

One Year of Training and Growth

According to Jessica Ras, coordinator of Formacion Social, the participants of SVT #19 began their training journey in March of last year.

After completing a full year of training and personal development activities, the participants were able to successfully finish the program.

“Today three young participants completed the program. We are extremely happy that they finished successfully,” Ras explained.

Participants Reflect on Their Experience

For Alexander Dorotaal, the SVT journey represented an important step in his personal development. He said the program helped him understand the importance of discipline and perseverance.

“I want to achieve something in my life and give myself an opportunity to move forward,” Dorotaal said.

Another graduate, Leonardo Gomez, described the experience as both positive and educational. He admitted that the first months of the program were challenging but rewarding.

“The first months were a bit tough, but after a while you get used to it. You learn a lot and build good friendships with other young people,” Gomez explained.

He added that the program gave him confidence and pride to continue progressing in life.

“I recommend other young people to participate. You receive a diploma, and it is something that can help you in the future,” he said.

A New Chapter Begins

The Social Training graduation celebrates youth discipline and opportunity ceremony marked the completion of an important stage for the participants. At the same time, it also represents the beginning of a new chapter in their personal and professional journeys.

Programs like SVT continue to play a key role in supporting youth development in Aruba by offering guidance, structure, and opportunities for growth.
