Behind-the-Scenes Look at Elderly Care

Visitors will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the daily operations at Verpleeghuis Oranjestad and learn more about the services provided to residents.

Guided tours of the facility will take place every 30 minutes, allowing guests to see the different areas of the nursing home and specialized care facilities.

Members of the SABA healthcare team will also be present to answer questions and provide more information about their services.

Activities With Residents

During the Open Day, visitors will also be able to participate in interactive activities together with residents, creating opportunities for community connection and meaningful shared experiences.

According to Sulima Geerman, Director of SABA, the organization believes that care goes beyond medical services.

“Care is more than care,” Geerman explained. “It means creating the true essence of a home for every resident we care for. By opening our doors, we proudly show the community what ‘Stronger Together’ really means.”

Health Awareness Collaboration

The Open Day will also feature a health awareness initiative in collaboration with Fundacion ABO as part of International Colorectal Cancer Prevention Month.

A special information table will be available where visitors between 45 and 75 years old can learn more about the FIT-test, a private screening test that can be done at home to help detect colorectal cancer early.

According to Dr. Chris Franca, founder of the CORESA program, early screening is important for prevention.

“A screening does not have to start at the hospital. It can begin with a simple choice at home,” Dr. Franca explained.

Registration Recommended

Although everyone is welcome to attend the event, organizers recommend registering in advance to guarantee participation in a guided tour.

Visitors can register through the following link:
