Prime Minister Welcomes FECC Germany Delegation as part of an official cultural exchange visit.
On Thursday morning, the Prime Minister of Aruba, in his role as Minister of Culture, received a delegation from the Federation of European Carnival Cities (FECC) Germany, currently visiting Aruba under an official cultural exchange program.
The visit is part of international cooperation within the global carnival network, as SMAC (Stichting Musica Aruba Carnival) is now an active member of FECC. During their stay, the delegation attended three of Aruba’s carnival parades, gaining firsthand experience with the organization, community participation, and cultural impact of Aruba’s national celebration.
During the meeting with the Prime Minister, he emphasized the value of carnival as one of Aruba’s most significant cultural activities — not only in terms of tradition and identity, but also for its economic and tourism impact.
The meeting served as an opportunity to reaffirm Aruba’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and international cooperation. It also highlighted the potential for expanding collaboration within the international carnival network, strengthening Aruba’s position on the global cultural stage.
This official recognition reflects the government’s ongoing support for the strategic development of Aruba’s cultural sector.
