Minister Wyatt-Ras Sociaal Vormingstraject youth development after three young participants successfully completed phase 2 of SVT-19 and received their certificates from Minister Melvin Wyatt-Ras together with Prime Minister Mike Eman.

After completing phase 1 in 2025, the participants continued with phase 2 of the program, during which they gained work experience at different local companies and organizations. During this phase, they put into practice the discipline, responsibility, and skills they developed during their training.

The Sociaal Vormingstraject (SVT) is a program that guides young people between 17 and 24 years old in their personal, social, and professional development. The goal of the program is to give youth the opportunity to strengthen their abilities and prepare for a more stable and positive future. Similar government descriptions of the program also emphasize discipline, guidance, and preparation for the labor market.

The participants who completed phase 2 of SVT-19 are:

  • Alexander Dorotaal

  • Romano Maduro

  • Leonardo Gomez Reyes

Minister Wyatt-Ras congratulated the young participants for their perseverance and commitment throughout the program.

According to the minister, they demonstrated that discipline, perseverance, and commitment can open doors to opportunity, and she expressed pride in the important step they have taken toward building a positive future.

The minister also thanked the people and organizations that helped guide the group during their training, including:

  • Jessica Ras, coordinator of Formacion Social

  • Nicole Godett, social worker of Formacion Social

  • Shamilla Williams, who helped guide the youth in presentation skills

  • Representatives of the Koninklijke Marine and Arumil, including Commandant Tim van Wijk, Kapitein Ligtvoet, Sargeant Croes, Sargeant Leito, Sargeant Corvacho, Korporaal Thijsen, Korporaal Arendsz, and Marinier Koolman

Minister Wyatt-Ras again underlined that Sociaal Vormingstraject is an important opportunity for youth development, helping young people build confidence in their abilities and contribute positively to the community
