Over the past three months, the Community Police Team of the San Nicolas District held a series of neighborhood meetings across different areas north of the bridge. Meetings took place in San Nicolas on September 10, Savaneta on October 22, and Pos Chikito on November 12, 2025. Officers distributed flyers throughout each neighborhood to ensure residents were informed and invited.

A total of 204 residents attended the meetings, sharing concerns, suggestions, and ongoing issues affecting their neighborhoods.

  • Cars and motorbikes speeding through the streets
  • Vehicles with broken mufflers causing excessive noise
  • Stray dogs becoming a nuisance
  • Trash (including discarded sushi containers) being thrown into neighborhoods
  • Overgrown weeds and vegetation along sidewalks
  • Poor street lighting
  • Abandoned houses being used by vagrants or individuals with addictions
  • Loud music coming from nearby establishments

Additional issues included:

  • Requests for traffic-calming measures, such as speed bumps
  • Stray dogs attacking goats and livestock
  • Disorderly behavior outside bars and establishments
  • Individuals with mental health challenges causing disturbances

These concerns were consistently mentioned across all neighborhood sessions. Residents expressed appreciation for the initiative and requested that meetings be organized more frequently so they can continue voicing their concerns.

Representatives from FCCA, DIP, and the Bureau City Inspector also attended to answer questions and address specific issues. The Police Academy was present as well to provide information for those interested in applying to the police force.

The Aruba Police Force, together with the Community Police of San Nicolas, thanked all attendees and the participating departments for contributing to the informative sessions.
