ORANJESTAD (AAN) – KPA Honors Tony Yearwood During Carnival 72 in a special recognition moment organized by the Cuerpo Policial Aruba in collaboration with SMAC and Telearuba.
Carnival 72 was a special edition for the Aruba Police Force, not only for maintaining order and safety, but also for honoring a police officer known for his dedication and love for the community.
Anthony “Tony” Yearwood, Onderinspecteur Eerste Klasse working at the Police Station in Oranjestad, received a surprise recognition live on television and again during Aruba’s Grand Parade 72.
For more than 20 years, Tony has led the opening section of the parade known as the “Kop,” ensuring the route was clear and guiding the parade together with SMAC. His leadership helped keep the Carnival celebrations organized and safe.
Carnival 72 marked Tony’s final parade as he will soon retire with his well-deserved pension, closing a beautiful chapter dedicated to Aruba’s Carnival.
High Commissioner Mr. Arnhem, District Chief Mr. Brown, SMAC President Mr. van Ommeren, and Telearuba presenter Mr. Yanez presented him with his recognition.
The Aruba Police Force expressed pride in Tony’s service and thanked him for his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to Aruba’s Carnival and community.
