Get All the Beach Access but None of the Crowds at This Boutique Resort in Aruba

The tide has just reached my ankles, sending other diners scurrying to higher ground — but I stay perfectly calm. After all, it’s hard to feel anything but bliss when you’re enjoying dinner on the beach in Aruba, watching the sunset paint the sky over the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Wet sandals feel like a small price to pay for this unforgettable experience at Passions on the Beach, the signature restaurant of Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort.

Located in Oranjestad, Aruba’s charming capital, Amsterdam Manor sits directly across from Eagle Beach, often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world. While its prime location is reason enough to stay, there’s much more to love about this Dutch-inspired boutique resort.

Charming Rooms with a Touch of Home

Unlike Aruba’s sprawling hotel chains, Amsterdam Manor offers just 72 rooms, each thoughtfully designed with bright décor and tropical touches. Even the smallest studios (from $261 per night) include a queen bed and kitchenette. The property is eco-certified with solar panels, water-saving fixtures, and refillable amenities, reflecting Aruba’s island-wide sustainability focus.

My one-bedroom suite ($333 per night) comes with a king bed, a full kitchen, and a private patio — spacious enough for extended stays. Some guests stay for months, enjoying comforts like pet-friendly access and wheelchair-friendly ground-floor rooms. The two-bedroom Penthouse Suite, priced at $423 per night, adds a balcony and dining area, perfect for families or long visits.

Resort Amenities and Beach Perks

Beyond the comfortable rooms, Amsterdam Manor provides free parking, laundry facilities, and room service until 9 PM. The pool is compact but features a relaxing waterfall and a kids’ section. Guests can even book extras like Champagne breakfasts or custom bathrobes.

But the real luxury here is direct access to Eagle Beach. Despite Aruba’s public beaches, Amsterdam Manor ensures its guests always have a spot, reserving complimentary lounge chairs just steps from the sea.

Dining and Drinks with a View

At Passions on the Beach, you can dine just feet from the water, savoring locally sourced dishes like shrimp spring rolls and bourbon steak. Candlelight, soft waves, and gentle music create the perfect atmosphere for romance — it’s no wonder many proposals and weddings happen here.

For sunset cocktails and upbeat vibes, Horizons Lounge, the resort’s rooftop bar, offers panoramic views, live DJ sets, and a rotating menu featuring sushi, fajitas, and desserts like crème brûlée. Earlier this year, Horizons even hosted an LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, emphasizing the resort’s warm and inclusive spirit.

Adventures Beyond the Resort

If you can tear yourself away from the beach, Aruba offers endless adventures. The resort can arrange Jeep tours, catamaran cruises, and visits to spots like San Nicolas, Baby Beach, or the Donkey Sanctuary. With car and bike rentals available, exploring the island is easy and safe.

Easy Arrival and Departure

Located just 15 minutes from Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA), Amsterdam Manor makes arrivals and departures stress-free. Whether you’re visiting for a few days or a few months, the resort offers the perfect balance of comfort, charm, and Caribbean serenity.
