Durante Parada di Carnaval Cuerpo Policial a honra Onderinspecteur 1ste Klasse Tony Yearwood for his dedication and long-standing service to Carnival and the community.
Carnival 72 was especially meaningful for the Aruba Police Force (KPA). It became a moment to thank, honor, and recognize a police officer known not only for his dedication to Carnival but also for his love and commitment to the community.
Anthony, better known as “Tony” Yearwood, is an Onderinspecteur Eerste Klasse working at the Oranjestad Police District. As a surprise, the Aruba Police Force, together with SMAC and Telearuba, presented him with a special recognition live on television and during Aruba’s Grand Parade 72.
Tony is a familiar and respected figure within the community. For many years, he has led the opening of the parade, known as the “Kop,” ensuring the route is cleared and guiding the parade alongside SMAC. He has played a central role in directing the Parades of Oranjestad year after year.
Carnival 72 marked Tony’s final parade in this role, as he will soon retire and begin his well-deserved pension, closing a beautiful chapter filled with celebration and service to Aruba’s Carnival tradition.
High Commissioner Mr. Arnhem, District Chief of Oranjestad Mr. Brown, SMAC President Mr. van Ommeren, and Mr. Yanez of Telearuba were present to present Tony with his well-earned recognition.
The Aruba Police Force expressed great pride in Tony and was honored to recognize him during the parade he holds so dear. For more than 20 years, he has guided Aruba’s Carnival with dedication and heart. A proud resident of Dakota, Tony is appreciated and respected by many.
The Police Force thanked him for his effort and dedication in helping move the organization forward, always with the same noble heart. He is recognized as one of the important pillars of the organization.
Thank you, Tony, and enjoy your well-deserved retirement.
