ORANJESTAD (AAN): The DRH Aruba Strengthens Public Service Efficiency as the Department of Human Resources continues to play a vital role in improving the effectiveness and performance of government services across the island.

On Wednesday morning, Minister of Justice, Integration, Public Transport and Energy Arthur Dowers attended the Personnel Day of the Department of Human Resources (DRH), highlighting the importance of the department’s work in supporting the functioning of the government.

The DRH Aruba Strengthens Public Service Efficiency by managing and guiding human resource processes throughout the entire government structure. The department is responsible for ensuring that public institutions have the right staff, organizational structure, and guidance needed to serve the community effectively.

The DRH personnel day was not only a moment for staff members to gather but also a strategic opportunity for evaluation and planning. During the event, employees reviewed data related to public servants and discussed ways to improve the management of human resources within the government system.

The program also included professional development sessions designed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of DRH employees. These sessions focused on improving expertise in areas related to human resource management, organizational planning, and government administration.

Minister Dowers, who oversees the DRH department, opened the event by expressing his appreciation for the important work performed by the DRH team. According to the minister, much of the department’s work takes place behind the scenes, yet it is essential to maintaining an efficient public administration.

As the department responsible for supervising and advising all government agencies on human resource matters, DRH plays a structural role in Aruba’s public administration. A clear overview of the entire government workforce allows the department to provide informed guidance and support improvements in public service.

Officials emphasized that without a strong and well-organized human resources department, it would be difficult to achieve efficient and effective government services. Accurate data, careful analysis, well-defined procedures, and strategic planning are necessary to maintain transparency, accountability, and quality service to the public.

Minister Dowers noted that DRH supports every government department and therefore must maintain strong internal organization as well.

In recent years, DRH has launched several initiatives aimed at improving government performance. These include the Performance Management system, the Land Aruba Academy, and leadership training programs.

The Performance Management system evaluates public employees every six months, providing guidance to help improve their performance and raise the overall quality of service delivered to the community.

Meanwhile, the Land Aruba Academy is a digital learning platform offering free training courses for public employees. The platform provides educational resources on various topics, helping employees expand their knowledge and professional skills.

The DRH Aruba Strengthens Public Service Efficiency through these initiatives, demonstrating the government’s commitment to modernization, professional development, and better governance.

Minister Dowers’ visit reaffirmed the government’s dedication to strengthening Aruba’s public sector by focusing on efficiency, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
