The Classic Cars Aruba March 18 event will be part of the celebrations for Aruba’s National Anthem and Flag Day and Status Aparte, taking place at the Super Do It Center parking lot in Shaba.
During a press conference organized by Super Do It Center, Adolfo Maduro, coordinator of the Aruba Muscle & Classic Cars Club, spoke about the club’s participation in the national celebration scheduled for March 18.
The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with various activities planned throughout the afternoon. Maduro confirmed that the classic cars are expected to arrive at the location at exactly 3:00 p.m., as the club members also have other activities scheduled earlier that day.
The Classic Cars Aruba March 18 gathering will showcase a selection of vintage vehicles owned by members of the Aruba Muscle & Classic Cars Club. According to Maduro, the club has been active for around 20 years and currently includes about 130 members and approximately 75 classic vehicles.
However, he explained that it is difficult to predict the exact number of cars that will attend the event.
“We can never promise exactly how many cars will be present because they rarely all appear together,” Maduro said. “But March 18 is always a day when many classic cars come out, so we expect a good turnout.”
Maduro also noted that many owners of classic cars are now older and do not drive their vehicles as frequently as before. In some cases, the next generation has not continued the tradition of maintaining or showcasing the cars.
“If the younger generation had continued the tradition, we would probably see even more classic cars in Aruba,” he explained.
He added that Curaçao has a large number of classic cars, and the Aruba club recently visited the island where they saw many well-preserved vehicles. Enthusiasts in Curaçao have expressed interest in bringing their cars to Aruba for the Classic Cars Aruba March 18 event if transportation becomes possible.
The classic car show forms part of the broader National Anthem and Flag Day celebration, which will include cultural activities, music, and entertainment for the public throughout the day.
Organizers invite the community to attend the event at Super Do It Center in Shaba to enjoy the display of classic vehicles and celebrate Aruba’s national pride together.
