ORANJESTAD (AAN): On Monday morning, Minister of Justice, Integrity, Public Transport and Energy, Mr. Drs. Arthur Dowers, made an important visit to the Zorg en Veiligheidshuis Hollands Midden in Leiden, Netherlands.
The visit focused on strengthening cooperation between institutions, with special attention on integrating care services within the judicial chain. The main objective is to create a structured collaboration where all partners, both in the judicial and care sectors, work together to improve Care and Safety Aruba for individuals facing complex situations.
Zorg en Veiligheidshuis Hollands Midden serves as a strong example of how multidisciplinary collaboration can lead to more effective solutions. The institution offers various services and brings together multiple experts under one roof, providing support to individuals dealing with domestic violence, child abuse, behavior causing insecurity, and other personal challenges.
The model is based on continuous cooperation between partners, where knowledge and experience are shared to achieve sustainable solutions and prevent risk situations. In this system, all actors—from social services to the judicial sector—contribute to a comprehensive plan focused on Care and Safety Aruba, ensuring both protection and well-being.
Minister Dowers emphasized the need for a more holistic and strategic approach, where care and safety are not treated separately but as a shared responsibility.
Cooperation within the Kingdom remains essential for sharing knowledge and experience and for developing models that can be adapted to Aruba’s local reality.
With this visit, Minister Dowers reaffirmed his commitment to building a system that not only responds to problems but also prevents them, guides individuals, and creates opportunities for a safer and more sustainable future through improved Care and Safety Aruba.
