Aruba waste management incinerator solution expected to bring change

ORANJESTAD (AAN): Aruba waste management incinerator solution is expected to finally address long-standing challenges related to waste disposal, sewage water, and animal carcasses on public roads, according to parliamentarian Muzaninn Wever.

Wever stated that projects designed to deliver solutions are always welcomed with optimism, and he hopes that this time Aruba will truly see a difference. He emphasized that the Aruba waste management incinerator solution is not only about technical improvements, but also about social responsibility.

According to Wever, the new incinerator represents a concrete step toward solving waste management problems that have existed on the island for many years. However, he stressed that technology alone is not enough and that citizens must also recognize their role in keeping Aruba clean.

The Aruba waste management incinerator solution must go hand in hand with responsible behavior, Wever said, noting that many residents still throw garbage out of car windows, leading to waste accumulation along roadsides. This creates an unpleasant view for both residents and tourists.

Wever warned that continued irresponsible behavior—such as illegal dumping and neglecting proper waste disposal—damages Aruba’s reputation. If voluntary compliance does not improve, he indicated that stronger legal enforcement may be necessary to support the Aruba waste management incinerator solution and protect the island’s environment.
