Aruba has been ranked the safest island in the Caribbean, thanks to its low crime rate, reliable Dutch-standard healthcare, and protection from major hurricanes.
The island also features some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, including Eagle Beach, which received TripAdvisor’s top award in 2025. Visitors can enjoy calm, shallow waters and may even spot nesting leatherback turtles along the shore.
Beyond beaches, Aruba offers nature escapes in Arikok National Park and unique attractions like Flamingo Island, where tourists can spend a day among imported pink birds. The island’s rich culture is reflected in its mix of Dutch, Spanish, and African influences, colorful Oranjestad architecture, and a wide range of water sports.
While European travelers face long journeys, Aruba remains accessible via a direct flight from Amsterdam. For U.S. visitors, around 15 airlines operate flights to Aruba, including American, United, Spirit, JetBlue, Copa, Avianca, Frontier, Southwest, Alaska, Silver Airways, Delta, and Allegiant.
Importantly, Aruba features a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Preclearance facility, allowing travelers to clear customs before departure—making arrival in the U.S. seamless, as if it were a domestic flight.
With its safety, natural beauty, and convenient access, Aruba continues to earn its nickname: “One Happy Island.”
