Aruba to Me: A Generational Love Story from Bruno and Eileen Santini

ORANJESTAD — Some vacation spots leave a lasting impression, but for Bruno and Eileen Santini of New York State, Aruba became much more than just a destination—it became home away from home.

Their message to us began with a heartfelt reflection:

“Aruba to me is… about sharing the natural wonders and beauty of the island with three generations of my family and friends.”

🌴 A Love Story That Started in 1974

Bruno and Eileen first visited Aruba in 1974, spending their honeymoon at the Divi Divi Beach Resort, one of only two resorts on the island at the time. They rented a motorcycle and explored the island from the California Lighthouse to Baby Beach, soaking in Aruba’s spectacular views and warm-hearted people.

What stood out the most?
Dining at the original Red Parrot Restaurant and discovering the rich flavors of dishes infused with gouda cheese—experiences that began their love affair with Aruban cuisine.

🍽️ From Then to Now – Aruba Has It All

Fast forward to today, and the Santinis are amazed by the island’s transformation into a world-class vacation destination.

“It’s incredible hearing travelers talk about the many restaurants recommended by friends—Aruba has it all: the best restaurants, resorts, beaches, and activities that match and surpass other Caribbean islands.”

Now staying at Costa Linda Beach Resort with a two-week timeshare they purchased in 2005, Bruno and Eileen return annually with their daughter Danielle and granddaughter Kaia. For them, Eagle Beach is more than just sand and sea—it’s a space for rest, reconnection, and reflection.

📸 Timeless Memories with Family and Friends

Even without today’s smartphones, the Santinis captured their honeymoon memories with a classic camera—and those photographs still remain.

“We start counting the days until our next visit to Aruba the moment we return home.”

For them, the joy is in the simplicity—lounging on the beach, watching the sunset, enjoying a good swim, and going out for dinner with loved ones.
