Oranjestad (AAN): After 12 years, Aruba is returning to participate in the prestigious Central American and Caribbean Sports Council (CONCECADE). Our last participation was in 2013, and today, our island is ready to be part of the 2025 edition, which will take place from November 1 to 10 in Córdoba, Colombia.
Aruba’s delegation will consist of 16 young athletes who will represent our national flag in six sports: athletics, weightlifting, chess, javelin throw, 3×3 basketball, and para-athletics. This diverse group, full of passion and talent, is poised to put Aruba on the regional sports map.
Aruba’s participation in CONCECADE represents a historic moment, motivating our youth and strengthening school sports. For the 2027 edition, the selection of athletes representing Aruba will be based on their performance in school competitions, fostering a culture of sports, discipline, and participation at the school level.
The Ministry of Sport emphasizes that this is a major step in the promotion of school sports and a living example of how our youth can develop their potential and represent Aruba with dignity on the international stage.
