The 2025 Aruba Open Beach Tennis tournament had a record-breaking year, attracting over 1,700 participants, making it the largest edition of the event to date. The finals were so packed that security had to close the gates to prevent further attendees from entering, which organizers described as a “luxury problem” due to the overwhelming turnout. The finals were also broadcast live on ESPN and Disney+ throughout Latin America.
Athletes from 42 countries participated, with strong representation from Brazil—widely known as the world’s beach tennis capital—as well as Colombia, Venezuela, the United States, Canada, Germany, and more.
“I invite everyone to join us in 2026. I believe it will be even bigger. We are very proud that the event continues to grow and helps put Aruba on the world map,” said Sjoerd de Vries, organizer of the Aruba Open Beach Tennis.
A Brazilian-born athlete now living in Toronto shared his excitement about visiting Aruba for the fifth time. Another participant from Venezuela called the experience incredible, especially since it was his first visit to the island. Elizabeth Ross from Canada, who also participated, stated she plans to return to Aruba for vacation. She emphasized that events like these not only promote Aruba internationally but also bring together athletes and cultures from around the world, creating a vibrant and enjoyable sports atmosphere.
