Aruba made its debut at the LGBT+ Turismo Expo in São Paulo on July 24, positioning itself as one of the Caribbean’s most inclusive destinations for LGBTQ+ travelers and solo female guests. The island highlighted its full infrastructure for same-sex weddings and promoted itself as a safe, welcoming retreat.
At the event, Aruba engaged nearly 100 travel agents through immersive booth activations, direct outreach, and a high-profile raffle in partnership with Copa Airlines. The raffle winner, Janete de Fátima Ferreira dos Santos Pereira, received a trip to Aruba, generating strong visibility and excitement around the island’s tourism offerings.
The Aruba Tourism Authority emphasized that the island is committed to inclusivity, with Director Carlos Barbosa noting, “It reinforced Aruba as an LGBTQIA+ friendly destination where everyone is welcome.”
Aruba’s participation at the LGBT+ Turismo Expo underscores its strategy of expanding into niche tourism markets in Brazil, focusing on inclusivity and tailored experiences. By promoting safe, diverse, and welcoming travel, Aruba strengthens its brand as a destination where every traveler feels at home.
