Today, Monday, September 8, 2025, the Aruba Chamber of Commerce is officially celebrating its 95th anniversary, highlighting nearly a century of service, support, and empowerment for businesses across the island.
The story began on November 11, 1929, when a group of 30 visionary entrepreneurs petitioned the Governor of Aruba to establish an organization that would represent and safeguard business interests. This initiative led to the official founding of the Kamer van Koophandel (KvK) on September 8, 1930, by government decree.
Since then, the Chamber has played a vital role in Aruba’s economic development—providing guidance, advocacy, and resources to companies of all sizes. Over the decades, it has adapted to Aruba’s evolving business landscape, fostering innovation, promoting collaboration, and strengthening ties between the private sector, government, and the wider community.
As the Chamber celebrates 95 years, it reflects proudly on past achievements while looking toward a future filled with opportunities, growth, and a renewed commitment to excellence. This anniversary is not only a milestone in history but also a testament to the resilience, vision, and dedication of its members and partners.
In preparation for the celebration, former Presidents of the Chamber recently gathered to share insights, feedback, and inspiring ideas, reaffirming KvK’s commitment to building a stronger business sector for the years ahead.
To honor this special day, the Chamber is inviting clients and friends to visit its Oranjestad office today to enjoy refreshments, sweet treats, and capture moments in a beautifully decorated reception area. Visitors are welcome between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm, and again from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
